The Kalimba is an African musical instrument comprising a wooden board, usually equipped with a resonator, and featuring staggered metal tines. It is played by plucking the tines with the thumbs while holding the instrument in the hands. Categorized as part of the lamellaphone and idiophone families of musical instruments, this traditional instrument has various names across different regions, such as marímbula and mbria in the Caribbean Islands.

The Kalimba Simulator offers a realistic audio experience, complete with adjustable settings and various color styles. It includes five Treble simulations with 17 keys each and one Alto simulation with 15 keys. Additionally, the app provides a wide selection of offline and online songs (Kalimba Tabs) for practice.

Users can engage in simulated play or connect to a real Kalimba for a multi-pitch experience, with different modes such as Melody & Chord, Melody Only, Melody (Auto Chord), Real Time, and Autoplay. The app offers two view modes tailored for both beginners and professionals.

Moreover, it allows users to create their own tabs, which can be exported as PDFs akin to the functionality of KTabS. The app also supports the import and export of MIDI files for creating Standard Midi Files (SMF). Sharing of user-created tabs globally and downloading tabs from around the world are also facilitated.

Noteworthy features include a recording function for capturing, playback, and sharing of performances. For enhanced sound quality, users can export recordings as .wav files for purposes such as ringtone creation or sharing with friends. The app comes preloaded with Kalimba Tabs for popular songs like "Yesterday Once More," "Heart and Soul," "Heal the World," "When You Believe," "My Love," "You Are My Sunshine," "Happy Birthday," "Kiss the Rain," among others.
